Love is in the Air

“I love you, not for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you.”
Roy Croft.

To love and to be loved is the best thing that happens to a person. People love to celebrate “Love Day” commonly known as “Valentine’s Day”. People used to wait for so long for this day just to say those three magical words. The selling of teddy bears, perfumes, chocolates, cards and roses get high. Prices of flowers also gets high, single flower costs Rs40 and above. Many shops are specially decorated for 14th February everything with red, red stuff bears, heart shape, chocolates and red cards etc. Talking to one of the shop owner of the Asif book store near Gulshan-e-Iqbal they have all types of bears which are mostly wanted by boys, and they have a range 1000-20,000/- . Things that sell most are handmade things, cards and most importantly the bear which cost Rs20,000 had been sold. He also said “This year the business is less than last year about 30% less profit.” People wear red dresses to celebrate this day. Arrange surprise lunch and dinners to please their loved ones. “Mostly customers buy things for their fiancé and we guide them what to buy” another shopkeeper at Subhanallah. “The purchase of teddy bears, chocolates, cards, perfumes and handmade art working rise up to 50%-70%” he added. Not only unmarried boys and girls celebrate this day, but happily married couples too. “We always have a dinner outside on Valentine’s Day, give presents to each other as well” said Mrs. Farheen Wasim a house wife. Love is everywhere, but there are different ways to celebrate it. Some celebrate it on a particular day and some said to cheer love it should not to restrict to one day only.
